Overview
Sense Street was a Series A fintech startup based in London, revolutionising capital markets by applying cutting-edge machine learning and natural language processing to unstructured market conversations. Their mission is to empower banks and trading firms with faster, more accurate insights from conversational context. I was brought in as Lead Product Designer to define and deliver an interface that could translate Sense Street’s powerful ML models into an intuitive product experience. My work focused on transforming theoretical algorithms into practical, tangible tools for OTC traders—tools that would stand up to the demands of competitive institutional users.
Key feature // 1
Turning unstructured data into actionable insight
I designed a clear, structured interface to surface real-time market conversations—parsed by proprietary ML models into key trading signals. This table view helps users filter by date and quickly scan deal terms like bond, z-spread, and direction—transforming noise into usable insight for sales and trading desks.
Key feature // 2
Designing for machine learning at the source
I created UI components that sit at the intersection of chat-based workflows and machine learning—allowing Sense Street to extract structured data from raw sales conversations. Tagged elements like bond, z-spread, and amount feed directly into the platform’s secure, in-house LLMs, helping build one of the most robust and high-signal datasets in institutional trading.
Key feature // 3
Design that supports business growth
I created a polished, investor-ready pitch deck to support Sense Street’s Series A fundraising round. The deck combined product storytelling with sharp data visuals and UI highlights—helping the founder clearly articulate the platform’s value to investors. The company successfully closed its Series A soon after.

Laying the Groundwork
As the sole product designer, I defined and delivered the end-to-end design vision for Sense Street—shaping the product experience from research to execution. Working closely with data scientists from Cambridge University, I translated technical models into clear, intuitive interfaces for institutional traders. I created a scalable design system, key platform screens, a marketing site, and two pitch decks—one of which supported the company’s successful Series A raise.
Conclusion
The outcome was a powerful yet elegant product experience that bridged advanced machine learning with human-centred design. Sense Street’s vision came to life through a tactile, intuitive interface—setting a new standard for accessibility, clarity, and trust in capital markets software. I delivered a design system and product foundation the team could confidently grow with.
